Catfight

late on the highway
two sets of headlights
resolved into cat's eyes
Calico fluffed
incredulous at my approach
grey tiger cat loaf
in studied indifference
paced my car
then leaped
across the lane
hitting the stonewall
with the crack of branches
was it love
or war?
